Proctor and Gamble India launch happy minds 2.0
Written by Nikitha Warriar

Procter & Gamble India (P&G) has announced a holistic well-being program called ‘Happy Minds 2.0’ to effectively address its employees’ mental health issues.

It’s a program that consciously shifts the focus from mental health to mental well-being and comprises many initiatives including flexible working policies, counselor services, preventive mental health check-ups, bi-annual ‘pause & recharge’ week, training managers to identify early signs of distress in their team members, reimbursement for expenditure on mental health, and so on.

In 2021, the company had picked employees as certified Mental Health First-Aiders to be the first line of response to signs of distress at the workplace. The program had a positive impact, which led to the launch of ‘Happy Minds 2.0, which has been built based on real employee experiences and feedback.

Shedding light on the company’s efforts, Srinivas P.M., Head of Human Resources, P&G, India, said to Business World, “Our approach has been comprehensive and holistic, wherein we are treating mental well-being as a critical part of the overall health and wellness of our employees. With Happy Minds 2.0, we are pivoting from mental health to mental well-being, in a more positive, proactive, and holistic approach with equal focus on the overall happiness quotient of our employees. ”
