Opera has introduced Opera Air, the first web browser with a focus on mindfulness and productivity. The browser prioritizes user’s well-being, transforming how users engage with the internet.
One standout feature is “Boosts,” which allows users to select specific tracks that are based on binaural beats, according to their mental state and purposes—like boosting creativity, relieving stress, recalling dreams, navigating emotions, and more.
Understanding the importance of regular breaks in maintaining mental health, the browser has an integrated “Take a Break” function. This tool encourages users to step away from continuous screen time by offering options like breathing exercises, neck exercises, meditation sessions, and a full body scan. Users can also set reminders to take these breaks, that are customizable and guided by real voice actors.
The “Speed Dial” feature adds an extra layer of positivity by displaying uplifting quotes on the browser’s main screen. The browser also has animated wallpapers that shift according to the selected theme, creating a soothing browsing experience.
Beyond mindfulness, Opera Air enhances browsing efficiency with built-in ad blockers to reduce distractions and improve speed. All well-being tools are easily accessible via a floating sidebar, ensuring seamless integration into users’ routines without disrupting workflow.
Opera Air represents a significant shift in how web browsers can support mental health and well-being. As Mohamed Salah, Senior Director at Opera, explains, “The web is beautiful, but it can be chaotic and overwhelming. We decided to look at science-backed ways to help our users navigate it in a way that makes them feel and function better.”
Opera Air is now available for early access. You can download it here and experience a new way to browse with focus, relaxation, and well-being at its core.
