YourDOST’s 2024 emotional wellness report shows employee stress at an all-time high
Written by Team MyndStories

YourDOST, one of India’s leading mental and emotional wellness organizations, has released its latest report, Emotional Wellness State of Employees in 2024, revealing that workplace stress is at an all-time high, with over 62% of employees reporting high stress levels.

The study, based on responses from over 5,000 employees across industries, highlights that stress is a widespread concern across age groups, with employees in their 20s and 30s experiencing the highest levels due to career anxiety, work-life balance struggles, and evolving workplace expectations.

YourDOST’s 2024 emotional wellness report shows employee stress at an all-time high

The report identifies key workplace stressors affecting employees across industries:

  • 30% of employees feel their contributions go unrecognized, leading to lower morale and disengagement.
  • 37% of employees worry about career growth, highlighting the urgent need for mentorship, upskilling, and structured career progression.

While workplace stress is a shared challenge, women report feeling more stressed (74%) than men (57%), often due to additional pressures related to work-life balance and workplace biases. This underscores the importance of gender-sensitive wellness initiatives and inclusive policies.

The report also highlights growing concerns beyond workplace pressures:

  • 35% of employees seek counseling for self-improvement, followed by 33% for relationship concerns and career anxiety.
  • Psychological health and sexual wellness discussions are emerging as critical areas requiring employer support.

Richa Singh, CEO & Co-founder of YourDOST, emphasized the need for long-term solutions, “Stress at work is no longer an individual issue but an organizational challenge. To truly support employees, companies must integrate wellness into business strategy. Frequent pulse surveys, structured mentorship, and leadership involvement in well-being initiatives can create a culture where employees feel valued and supported.”

While many organizations have wellness programs, Singh cautions that true impact comes from prioritizing employee well-being as a strategic investment, rather than an optional initiative.
